AUTUMN PRELUDE

We begin the season in a very pleasant setting under the direction of
Mr. Clayton Wachholz who comes to the FCB from a diverse and
distinguished career as a music educator in Michigan, Minnesota, and
Wisconsin. Currently a graduate teaching assistant at the University
of Michigan, he is former Co-Director of Bands at Plymouth-Canton
Education Park and has toured extensively in England and Japan, giving
clinics on brass and musicianship.

Clayton Wachholz returns to conduct our annual Halloween concert.
Everyone appears in costume for tunes and treats with a
special presentation by our friends at the Farmington Hills Police Department.
This favorite of kids of all ages is sponsored by the Target store
at 30020 Grand River in Farmington Hills.

Sample a taste of the holiday spirit as we ease into Winter with
a variety of seasonal classics. This concert will be conducted
by Mr. Damian Crutcher, Director of Band and Orchestra
at Southfield-Lathrup High School. Under his direction, the
Southfield-Lathrup Symphony Band and ensembles have performed at the
White House and Carnegie Hall. Mr. Crutcher holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Music Education from Michigan State University. He also
studied conducting under a fellowship at the University of Michigan
where he conducted the famed University of Michigan Symphonic Band.

Birmingham Concert Band
under the direction of Grant Hoemke. This year's guest conductor
of the combined bands is Professor Max Plank, retired Director of Bands
at Eastern Michigan University.

Our 3rd guest conductor, this special season, is Edward Quick,
Director of Music Education at the prestigious Detroit High School
for the Performing Arts. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music
Education from Michigan State University and a Master's Degree in
Clarinet Performance from the University of Michigan. His many
honors as an educator include the WDIV-TV/Newsweek "Teacher of the
Year."

for an afternoon of nostalgic music and homemade refreshments with our
special guests, The Farmington Community Chorus.

Commission with support from the Farmington Hills Special Services
- Cultural Arts Division and Farmington Public Schools and is presented
in conjuction with National Music Week, sponsored locally by the
Farmington Musicale.

The Farmington Community Band is made up of musicians of a wide variety
of ages and backgrounds who simply share in the joy of performing for
the community. In that spirit there is no cost for admission to any FCB
concert. Your generous donations help ensure the future of the band and
are greatfully accepted. Opportunities for donation will be available
at performances and through our patron program.
Donations may deductible under current tax laws.
